Meet
Dr. Kari Amick

Kari and her husband, Jon, have been members of the Carbon Valley community since 2007. They moved here while she was still in dental school and didn’t expect to stay long term. However, in no time at all they felt a deep connection to the community and after graduation decided to stay put. Kari was accepted into a competitive General Practice Residency program at the University of Colorado where she gained valuable experience treating complex dental patients in a hospital setting. This year-long program was intense and challenging, but Kari credits that year as having a huge impact on the dentist she has become.

Upon completion of residency, Kari began working in private practice. Over the next several years, her experience in that setting as well as public health continued to refine her skills and shape her dental practice philosophy. Having experience with hospital dentistry from her residency, Kari welcomed the opportunity to get hospital privileges that allow her to treat special needs patients in the operating room under general anesthesia. She continues to enjoy delivering that service in Fort Collins. Kari has also been a part of Dental Lifeline Network, a non-profit organization providing much-needed dental care to elderly patients living in nursing facilities and the homeless in the Denver area.

Inspire Dental is the realization of a dream for Kari and she feels blessed to be able to both live and work in the Carbon Valley community. Her diverse experiences as a dentist have given her a well-rounded skill set, including a passion for laser dentistry, which is a vital part of the treatment provided at Inspire Dental. Kari loves treating patients of all ages and can’t imagine a job that is more fulfilling than caring for members of her own community in impactful ways.

Kari and Jon welcomed their first child, a sweet little boy, in 2022. Kari has a passion for travel. Her long bucket list includes doing the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage through France and Spain. She’d love to be fluent in Spanish someday. Being a Colorado native, she feels it is her duty to climb a few 14ers next year. Kari enjoys the simple pleasures of life: good food, friends, and her precious family. Good beer is also a staple of the Amick household – most of which is made at home by Jon.

Meet
Dr. Meredith Burns

Dr. Burns was born and raised in the Midwest in Wayzata, Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree Cum Laude from Georgetown University where she discovered her passion for dentistry. She returned to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota for her dental degree and graduated with distinction.

After dental school, Dr. Burns moved back to the Washington, DC area and worked for a few years in Maryland and Virginia. She then spent some time doing travel dentistry working mainly in rural and underserved communities before moving to Colorado in 2022.

Dr. Burns loves to travel – she has been to all 7 continents and over 40 countries! She likes seeing how other people live and experience their food & culture. She loves making homemade cheese, breads and mustards and hopes to have a hobby farm one day with a stall at the local farmer’s market. In her spare time she also enjoys hikes with her dog, Etta. Meet
Christi Cook, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist

I have been a dental hygienist for over thirty years, and have been with Inspire Dental for five years! Previously, I worked with a small town dentist for twenty years until he retired. I was happy to find another private practice that adhered to my standard of care. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, receiving the Clinical Excellence Award and Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society membership. I hold a faculty appointment at the CU dental school, where I was a clinical instructor of dental hygiene.

I also served as Editor of the Journal of the Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association and President of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Hygienists’ Society. Then I became a PTA/soccer/football/basketball/baseball/volleyball/Sunday School and VBS teacher mom! I volunteer locally with KIND (Kids in Need of Dentistry), Give Kids A Smile Day, and the Colorado Mission of Mercy. I went on my first transforming dental mission trip in 2019 with the Belize Mission Project. I continue my education regularly, with over fifty hours of yearly continuing education credits. I am certified in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and laser therapy. My loyal patients have described me as “gentle but thorough”.

Meet
Becky Comstedt, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Becky. I am originally from Chicago, and have also lived in Seattle and Missouri. I am happy to have called the tri-town area my home since 2006, with my husband and our three daughters!

I love practicing Dental Hygiene, and I’m grateful for the opportunities it has provided! I served as President of the Colorado Dental Hygienists Association, I’ve written articles that have been published in RDH Magazine, and I’ve met some incredible hygienists across the nation, along the way! Our mouths have such an important functional purpose (speaking, eating, etc), but also an aesthetic component, and everyone has their own goal when it comes to their oral health/appearance. I love to be able to equip each person I see in the clinic with the information/tools/plan that they need to maintain/improve their oral health. I will not shame you for not flossing, but I will try to get to know you and then dialogue about options. You’re the driver of your oral health, and I want to be your informed and encouraging oral health coach!

Meet
Ali Foote, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist

I have been a dental hygienist since 2010 after graduating from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Milligan College. I took a few years off to stay home with my kids, but returned to Inspire Dental in 2022 because it is the best office ever!

I love my job as a dental hygienist because I believe going to the dentist doesn’t have to be a scary or painful experience. My motto is “thorough but gentle.” Nothing is better than having an anxious patient leave my chair after their appointment and commenting on how painless their cleaning was and how much easier the experience was than they were expecting. It brings me so much joy to serve my patients and care for them while getting to know them!

When I am not at Inspire Dental, you can find me at home with my husband, Ben, and our three kids, Emery, Micah, and Chloe. I enjoy reading, growing flowers, and my newest crafting hobby, punch needle!

Meet
Baylee Boxford
Front Office Administrator

I have been in the dental field doing administration since 2017 and I’m happy to be back after taking 2 years off. I am from Northern Colorado. My husband and I married in 2019, and after having our first daughter in 2020 we were ready for a change, so we packed up our lives and moved to Washington State. We quickly realized Colorado was home, so here we are! We had another baby boy in 2023 and I was blessed to get to spend 2 years raising and loving my babies. I am so happy to be back in the dental field and at Inspire Dental.

My kids truly inspire me. I want to be the best role model I can for them to look up to when times are happy and hard. They give my husband and I a reason to be the best humans, work hard for what we have, and love hard.

My dad is my role model. He has always been the one who is there for me when I need anything and has shaped me into the person and parent that I am today. He has always taught me to work hard for everything I have and if I want something to get it.

I have been in the dental field since 2003. I graduated from Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina as a dental assistant. Since then, I have assisted in oral surgery for 9 years, been a financial coordinator, front office administrator, and office manager. Inspire Dental made me feel at home instantly!

As a Tri-Town resident, I have been so honored and happy to not only live but work in this community! My husband and I have been married since 2001 and we have two great TEENAGERS. Working at Inspire Dental has been an amazing experience!

My family inspires me! My kids are watching me every day, and that makes me strive to do better and to be one of their role models. My husband and I have been together since I was 16 years old. He has always been an inspiration to me with his work ethic and love of helping others.

Meet Deb
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Deb is a Colorado native from a small farm town much like where Inspire Dental is located. She followed the career footsteps of her mother and never imagined she would still be doing this decades later. Dentistry brings frequent changes in technology and techniques which keep her career fresh and exciting. She loves helping and taking care of people so dentistry has always been a natural choice.

Outside of dentistry, She can be found exploring the outdoors with her husband, kids, and grandchildren. Together they enjoy camping, hiking, riding bicycles, just doing the Colorado thing. Her family inspires her to be the best she can be in order to guide them forward.

She lives by her grandfather’s words of “never turn around on a hike until you find a waterfall” or “you’ll never grow old if you always wonder what is around the corner.” Her curious grandfather had a deep faith in God, family, and community.

Meet Kristine
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Kristine, a devoted mother and wife, draws her inspiration from the two lights of her life—her children. Each day, she is motivated by a desire to provide them with a life rich in family, love, and cherished traditions. Ally, her daughter born 11 weeks premature at a mere 1.5 pounds, serves as a constant source of inspiration. Now 9 years old, Ally’s heart of pure gold imparts lessons of friendship and leadership that exceed Kristine’s expectations. Her husband, Jason, completes the foundation of her inspiration. Having earned his master’s degree while juggling full-time work and parenting two young children, Jason’s unwavering commitment to family underscores the importance of their bond every day.

Kristine’s bucket list reflects her aspiration to explore the world with her beloved family, listing destinations like Turks and Caicos, Italy, France, and Germany. Her role model is unequivocally her hardworking husband, who, as the rock of their family, prioritizes both preserving and creating traditions. If given the chance, Kristine would choose to share lunch with iconic figures such as Princess Diana, Mother Teresa, and Betty White—powerful women whose impactful contributions to the world have left an indelible mark.

When it comes to literature, Kristine’s favorite book is “The Notebook,” a timeless tale that resonates so deeply with her that she named her daughter Allison in homage. This story, whether in written or cinematic form, holds a special place in her heart, and she finds herself revisiting it repeatedly, savoring its enduring charm.
